Talk next Thursday: Hydrologic Thermostat for the Carbon Cycle

Next week, Kate Maher, Professor of Geological Sciences, Stanford University, will be visiting UO to give a lecture on tectonic and rock weathering controls on climate change over geologic timescales.  Dr. Maher’s work integrates Earth System models with the geologic record to resolve major feedbacks in the carbon cycle.  Her research spans a range of topics, including environmental geochemistry, groundwater contamination, and paleoclimate proxies.
